ADFH Confidentiality and Privacy Clause:
ADFH is committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of the Animal/ Owner information’s.
No information’s about the animal and its owners will be disclosed to any party other than ADFH.
The only exception is the prior written official consent or approval from the animal’s owner.
Patient protected data include:
Employees should only use the “absolute minimum necessary” information to perform their jobs.
ADFH is responsible to not disclose any information about the new or old owner to any party.
Updating or releasing any information about the adopted animal for the old owner is not allowed under any circumstances. In case if someone brings an animal for surrender and the animal is not owned by him, the microchip is verified:
If the animal is surrendered by someone else rather than real owner, we contact the real owner first to clarify what he wants to do to his animal. Whether he/ she wants to surrender the animal or to pick up the animal or what to do with his/her animal.
If the animal does not have a microchip, and its ownership has not been proven to anyone, then the person who brought it and delivered it to ADFH Pet Care Center will be considered the real owner of that animal and he bears the responsibility for all consequences of surrendering the animal.
If the animal has a microchip, the microchip has to be checked to verify if it is registered with ADFH Pet Care Center or not:
If the animal is registered with ADFH Pet Care Center, we contact the real owner to clarify what he wants to do to his animal. We check whether he/ she wants to surrender the animal or to pick up the animal or what to do with his/her animal.
If the animal has a microchip and it is not registered with us, we contact other approved veterinary clinics to establish the ownership of the animal. If this successful, then we contact the real owner to clarify what he wants to do to his animal. We check whether he/ she wants to surrender the animal or to pick up the animal or what to do with his/her animal. If the animal has a microchip, and its ownership has not been proven to anyone, then the person who brought it and delivered it to ADFH Pet Care Center will be considered the real owner of that animal and he bears the responsibility for all consequences of surrendering the animal.
In case the animal owner does not respond to our contact request, then we keep the animal in ADFH Pet Care Center for 14 days. If the owner does not contact or response for our contact during this time, the animal will be considered as abandoned. In this case, ADFH Pet Care Center has the full authority to do whatever it deems necessary with animal. It may be transferred immediately to Abu Dhabi Animal Shelter for adoption.
In case the owner come to pick up the animal during this time, he/she has to pay for the procedures and services that have been done for their animal (neutering/spaying, blood tests, daily boarding fees etc).
For surrendering the animal it is required to sign ADFH official Transfer of Pet Ownership form (Annex 1) and Transfer of Bird Ownership form (Annex 2) or send an official email to ADFH.
Once the owner surrenders the animal, no further updates will be given to the owner under any circumstances.
Any paid amount towards the adoption procedures / services are always non-refundable.
Adopted cats / dogs / others, cannot be exchanged with another animal from ADAS after signing the clearance form.
The Abu Dhabi Animal Shelter (ADAS) will not be responsible or liable for any diseases, condition or event that will happen to adopted animal after signing the clearance form.
In case of any medical or other requirements of the adopted pet, Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital, Abu Dhabi Animal Shelter and ADFH Pet Care Center will not be responsible or liable for it .
ADFH Pet Care Center nor any of its staff can be held responsible and liable for any kind of complications, accidents or death which may occur to the animal. ADFH will not provide any compensation in any form in case of the death of the animal.
